Minutes of Previous Meeting
Minutes of the meeting held 4 August 2026: PI proposed, TF seconded, and the minutes were unanimously approved.
Public Forum
NS attended the meeting and advised that he is currently in possession of the Cow Club £200 which had been previously discussed. He was aware that the council was looking to add this to the fund for a new defibrillator for the village, and he had found some funding which was available for this. He wondered if the Cow Club money could be directed towards the proposed community buy out of the pub. After discussing his idea, TF advised that the council had already applied for the funding he mentioned and had been turned down. With this it was agreed the money would go into the defibrillator fund.
Play Park
Amount of funds is £76k. TS advised that a community consultation would be carried out online in the coming weeks and that he would share this information on the village Facebook page and also forward it to TF, who would add this to the website. TS also suggested adding to the money and agreed to look at local and national funds before reporting back to the next meeting.
Treasurer’s Report
PI reported that the Treasurer’s account currently stands at £1043.83 and that the project account now stands at £55.65.
Road Closures
None to report in the immediate area.
Planning Applications
No applications have been submitted this month.
Village Pub
PI reported that a community meeting had taken place and was very well attended, with over 70 local residents present. There was a lot of support for the project and the Facebook group had also attracted a lot of interest. The next steps are to launch a crowd funding event online as well as look to attract volunteers from the village who may have the skills to help make improvements to the current building.
Councillor’s Report
Nothing to report.
MMWR
July’s report was circulated with no mentions of anything relevant to Ayton and no recording of any offences.
AOB
TS noted that the Community Council term is due to come to an end and he agreed to speak to Cllr JA regarding organising nominations for a new council and election if required.
Paul Cliffe had contacted AM and TS to advise that he would be resigning from his role on the Community Council due to personal reasons. AM noted his commitment to the Community Council, particularly his work in getting the village pub group up and running, and he was thanked for his service. All members of the Community Council wish him well.
Next Meeting
